Karen Walker
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Cisco

 

Karen Walker is the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Cisco. Walker and her team are responsible for building and strengthening Cisco’s brand, supporting growth strategies, cultivating opportunities in new and existing markets, and increasing demand for Cisco’s solutions globally.

 

Since becoming CMO in 2015, Karen has completely transformed the Marketing function at Cisco to become the leader in real-time, personalized marketing. She has invested heavily in the newest marketing technologies to build a multi-award-winning technology stack. She has led the organization as Cisco’s brand value increased 7% in the past 2 years to $32B dollars, ranking #16 in the world according to Interbrand.

 

Walker is a recognized industry authority on both technology and marketing topics, frequently participating in industry panels and keynotes. For two years in a row, Karen was recognized by Forbes as one of the World’s Most Influential CMOs, currently ranked at #14. She is a board member of the Association of National Advertisers and is a strong supporter of the #SeeHer movement – an effort set forth by the ANA to accurately portray all women and girls in the media by 2020. This aligns with her passion for supporting and encouraging women in STEM. Other passions, both professional and personal, include interior design, bio-technology, soccer, and educating the next wave of marketers.

 

Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree with joint Honors in Chemistry and Business Studies from Loughborough University in England and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of Sunderland in 2018.

John N. Stewart
Senior Vice President, Chief Security and Trust Officer, Cisco

 

John N. Stewart formed and leads Cisco’s Security and Trust Organization, which underscores the company’s commitment to address two of the most critical and top-of-mind issues for boardrooms and world leaders alike. Under Stewart’s leadership, the organization’s core missions include protecting Cisco’s public- and private-sector customers, enabling and ensuring Cisco Secure Development Lifecycle and Trustworthy Systems efforts across the company’s portfolio, and leadership in data protection and privacy, trust and assurance, and cybersecurity efforts with governments globally.

 

Throughout his 25-year career, Stewart has led or participated in widely ranging security initiatives from IT design for elementary schools to national security programs. He is a Board Director for ReFirm Labs and SpyCloud, special advisor to the Board of Directors for Focal Point, RedSeal, and NSX, llc. (LSE: NSX) and is on the Syracuse University’s College of Engineering Dean’s Leadership Council. Stewart previously served on the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Cyber Security Review panel, the Cybersecurity Think Tank at the University of Maryland University College, and the CSIS Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th United States Presidency. During his career, Stewart has served on the Board of Directors for Fixmo, Koolspan, the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA), RiskSense, Shadow Networks, and Shape Security. He has been on advisory boards for Akonix Systems, Anomali, Area 1 Security, BlackStratus, Cloudshield Technologies, Finjan Holdings, Ingrian Networks, Nok Nok Labs, Riverhead Networks, and TripWire.

 

Stewart, a highly sought public and closed-door speaker who leads an organization that is well-recognized across the industry, keynoted RSA Conference USA 2018. In 2017, the International Business Awards (Stevie Awards) and the Golden Bridge Awards honored the Cisco Security and Trust Organization as IT Team of the Year and Management Team of the Year, respectively, with Stewart also winning a ‘Stevie’ as an Innovator of the Year in Computer Services and Software. Additionally, Stewart won the 2017 Ada Award for his vision of a Trust-Based Ecosystem of Technologies, Process and People. In the past three years, Stewart and his team have received numerous industry awards, including Info Security Products Guide Global Excellence Award for Security Organization of the Year (2016); as well as RSA’s Award for Excellence in Information Security (2015), the Global Golden Bridge Award for CISO of the Year (2014), and the CSO 40 Silver Award for Chief Security Officer of the Year (2014) for Stewart individually.

 

Stewart has a Master of Science degree in computer and information science from Syracuse University.

Maciej Kranz
Vice President, Strategic Innovation, Cisco Systems

 

Maciej Kranz brings 30 years of networking industry experience to his position as Vice President, Corporate Strategic Innovation Group at Cisco. He leads the group focused on incubating new businesses, accelerating internal innovation, and driving co-innovation with customers and partners through a global network of Cisco Innovation Centers.

 

Prior to this role, Kranz was General Manager of the Connected Industries Group at Cisco, a business unit focused on the Internet of Things (IoT). He built a $250M business from the ground up in 18 months and relentlessly evangelized the IoT opportunity across Cisco and the market, making IoT one of Cisco’s major priorities.

 

Previously, Kranz led efforts across Cisco to define, prioritize, and deliver Borderless Network Architecture and roadmaps. He also drove business and product strategy for the wireless and mobility business and led product management for the stackable Ethernet switching business unit through its expansion from $400M to $6B in revenues.

 

Before coming to Cisco, Kranz held various management positions at 3Com Corporation, where he drove a $1B Ethernet network interface cards (NICs) product line. He began his professional career at IBM Corporation.

 

In his New York Times Best Selling book, Building the Internet of Things, and its companion Project Workbook, Kranz offers practical advice to business decision makers on how and why to implement IoT today. He formed a thought-leadership forum and newsletter to exchange industry insights on IoT developments. Kranz is also a faculty member of Singularity University, focusing on IoT and corporate innovations.

Dr. Michio Kaku
Theoretical physicist and futurist

 

Dr. Michio Kaku is one of the most widely recognized figures in science in the world today. He is an internationally recognized authority in two areas. The first is Einstein’s unified field theory, which Dr. Kaku is attempting to complete. The other is to predict trends affecting business, medicine, finance, and our way of life, based on the latest research in science.

 

Dr. Kaku holds the Henry Semat Chair in Theoretical Physics at the City University of New York and has been a professor at CUNY for almost 30 years. He has taught at Harvard and Princeton as well, and his goal is to complete Einstein’s dream of a “theory of everything”, to derive an equation, perhaps no more than one inch long, which will summarize all the physical laws of the universe. He has also written four NY Times Best Sellers and his latest is the Future of Humanity, which projects the future of the space program decades to centuries into the future.

 

Dr. Michio Kaku does considerable public speaking on international radio, appears regularly on national and international TV, and hosts numerous science TV and radio programs. He was featured in the full-length, 90-minute feature film, Me and Isaac Newton, which was nominated for an Emmy in 2001. Dr. Kaku has over 3 million fans on Facebook and New York Magazine declared that he is one of the “100 Smartest People in New York”.
